"the Fifth Brace" transmission support

The transmission on 1986-1999 Softail is mounted to the frame with 4 studs on a mounting plate and on the right side with a 5th stud going to a bracket welded to the frame. It is common practice to offset the transmission to create room for a wider tyre using an offset mounting plate. This plate does not carry the 5th stud, often resulting in a damaged inner primary. Installing our "Fifth Brace" solves that problem. Installation is simple. All bolts, nuts, spacers, washers and instructions are included. All you have to do is drill a 3/8" hole in the vertical part of the frame bracket, fit the "Fifth Brace" there and bolt it directly to the transmission cover. The result is a more torsion-resistant and stronger construction than stock, with less chance of a cracked inner primary. For stock frames and most aftermarket ones.
