Trask, ventilated 'CheckM8' transmission top cover. Chrome

The H-D© M8 engine suffers from a problem of excessive oil consumption. This Trask Performance transmission top cover resolves many of the causes of the problem by releasing excessive crankcase pressures. This is achieved using a Boysen one-way valve. The oil/air mist is better retained in the cam compartment and the oil pump operates more efficiently. Less air/oil mist escapes from the engine through the cylinder head breathers. The reduction in crankcase pressure also adds some power, as the engine turns over more freely.
Note: This CheckM8 transmission top cover will not solve the M8 oil transfer problem. H-D© has issued a service bulletin for the pump seal that addresses this issue.
