The HI-4 S&S ignition has been one of the most popular performance ignitions in the "cone" range. Now it is the HI-4N from S&S, featuring updated characteristics to facilitate installation and setup, and to enhance reliability. The bulletproof metal casing of the HI-4N provides improved heat dissipation, and includes degree markings and advance direction on the flange. A hole in the casing for routing the cable makes installation easier and prevents cable damage. The robust sensor/magnet housings are integrated into the fully metal rear plate, protecting the sensors from damage during installation. The sensor housings contain advanced high-temperature resistant flux concentrators with samarium/cobalt magnets for precise and reliable activation. The electronics are fully encapsulated to resist vibration, moisture, and dirt, and are mounted directly to the metal casing, which acts as a heat sink. The HI-4N ignition features four rotary switches to adjust advance, set the rev limit, and select different modes such as Single or Dual ignition, Multi or Single spark, Race or OE, and electric or manual start. The switches provide precise and repeatable adjustments. Available as a module only or as a kit with matching coils and connection cables, for both Single or Dual ignition applications. For Shovelhead 1970-1984, Big Twin Evolution 1984-1999 and Sportster XL 1971-1999 except 1200S.
