S&S, HI-4N adjustable single/double fire ignition module

Module only. Offers switchable multi/single spark, race/street mode, RPM limiter and kick/electric start mode, with no PC required. This HI-4N module was previously manufactured by Crane and now by S&S. Nothing has changed except the name. Same excellent technology, same reliable electronics. The HI-4N offers more options than the famous HI-4, with even greater reliability. The HI-4N comes with switchable single/dual fire (with integrated multi/single spark, race/street mode, RPM limiter and kick/electric start mode). Easy initial static timing with built-in LED timing light. The sensor housing contains fully encapsulated electronics to withstand vibration, moisture and dust, and mounts directly to the metal housing which acts as a heat sink to prevent overheating. Easy adjustment with 4 rotary switches offering perfect precision.
Note: Compatible with 2-3 Ohm coils. It is recommended to use ignition modules and coils from the same manufacturer. Mixing different brands may cause premature failure.
Note: The ignition rotor (OEM 32402-83) and mounting bolt (2611B) must be ordered separately or reused. The rotor and bolt kit is available as 902268 (S&S) or 920402 (import).
Note: The module may not fit XL 00-03 models due to the slightly smaller diameter of the ignition cone used on 00-03 Sportsters.

Note: The difference between single and dual fire explained:
- Dual spark - This is how earlier, pre-Twin Cam engines work. A single coil is used and both spark plugs fire simultaneously. This is the simplest system. The "wasted" spark is sometimes said to rob horsepower.
- Single Fire - This is how 00-up stock Twin Cam engines operate. Two separate coils fire the spark plugs independently and only the spark plug of the cylinder on the compression stroke will fire. These engines are said to vibrate less and may improve power. The effects will become more pronounced with more aggressive camshafts and higher RPM.
