This speedometer/tachometer interface adapter is also known as a Databus Break-Out Box. It allows you to intercept most speedometers/tachometers with the SAE J-1850 Databus signal from the original Harley-Davidson ECU on Dyna 2004-2011, Softail 2004-2010, Sportster 2004-2013, Touring 2004-2013 and Trike 2009-2013. This device connects to the bike's databus and outputs traditional analogue signals for any gauge of your choice. Power and earth outputs for the accessory are provided, as well as outputs for the adjustable tachometer signal for 1, 2 or 4 cylinders (including V-Twin Single Fire and Dual Fire applications, up to 8,000ppm only), and the engine check signal, normally only available on the data bus. In addition to the wired outputs, the Break-Out Box contains a digital readout that allows you to read and clear diagnostic codes, similar to a scan tool. The kit comes complete with the required wiring and mounting hardware.
