JIMS Fat-5 Overdrive transmissions are 5-speed units with wider gears to withstand the extreme peak loads in transmissions with today's high-power engines and large, high-traction tyres. These peak loads far exceed the loads standard gears were designed for. JIMS Fat Gear transmissions are equipped with gears that are 18% to 53% wider, depending on the load each gear set must bear. Gear ratios are: 1st 2.94:1, 2nd 1.93:1, 3rd 1.31:1, 4th 1.00:1, 5th 0.886:1 overdrive (stock is 1:1).
Note: Custom application. Due to the width of the gears, this transmission is +.560" (13mm) wider than the original at the transmission cover. This may interfere with the exhaust and/or the oil tank filler. The necessary modifications must be made.
