JIMS, pinion shaft. 72-E81 B.T.

Compatible with OEM flywheels. The pinion shaft has no keyway. The taper is 8-1/2°. The widest part of the taper measures approx. 1.400". The shaft is 4.262" long from the bearing shoulder to the end of the small thread. Use nut 24017-80 JIMS (MCS 978257) on the flywheel side and nut 24003-55 (MCS 518000) on the pinion side.
Note: Use the JIMS MCS 502616 arbor for all aftermarket flywheels from 70-99 that have a keyway and 6° taper.
JIMS axles are precision machined in Camarillo, California, from special-order steel. Each part is thoroughly inspected and, after heat treatment, all threads undergo a special process to withstand greater torsional stress. All axles have a ground finish of 16 microns or better, unless otherwise stated. All ground diameters are concentric within .0003", allowing faster, easier centring and rebuilding.
