Swingarm kit for tyres up to 300 on chassis

When the latest fat tyres came onto the market, everyone had a problem. How can you fit a 270, 280 or even a 300 tyre into a stock Softail frame? Simple, that's where Zodiac comes in. Ton Pels designed an extra wide kit that includes a set to widen the frame without the need for a template and a primary offset kit, allowing the installation of a tyre up to 300 on an original frame and on most aftermarket frames. The frame widening is done with a 15mm aftermarket side plate for the frame, in banana shape. This plate is welded onto the frame using the original as a template. The position of the engine/transmission in the frame of Evolution models differs by 1/4" compared to Twin-Cam models. That is why the offset in the plate, together with our 45mm primary offset kit, will give enough room for tyres up to 250 on Softail Evolution frames and 280 on Twin-Cam frames. Using the plate together with our 55mm primary offset kit will give enough room for 280 Metzeler tyres on Softail Evolution frames and up to 300 Avon on 2000-2006 Softail Twin-Cam frames. The offset plate with 25mm primary offset kit for models from 2007 provides enough room for the installation of 280 tyres.
 
 The complete kit includes a swingarm, the offset banana and the complete primary offset kit. The latter includes the primary spacer with bearing for models up to 2006, crankshaft extender and longer crankshaft nut, longer gearbox mainshaft, longer 5th gear pinion with needle bearings and seal, wider front pulley spacer, longer clutch pushrod, starter shaft extender, starter shaft coupling, gearbox-to-primary spacers, all seals, gaskets and the fittings for installation. Primary offset kits for models from 2007 onwards contain a primary offset ring without bearing. The stock brake caliper bracket can be reused and the belt guard mounts are fitted. The kits for Softail Evolution must be used with a 1 1/8" 135-tooth Twin-Cam type belt and an 11/8" 70-tooth pulley. When installing the kit on a 1991 to 1993 model, a late-generation 5th countershaft (ZPN 237074) must be used, which must be ordered separately. 
 
 Note: We recommend that a professional welds the side plate. 
 Note: Evolution models will accept the 300 series if the wheel is shifted slightly to the right.
