PCV crankcase breather

Chrome. Positive Crankcase Ventilation, a universal chrome steel system for crankcase ventilation, compatible with all H-D models. Fits standard 3/8" oil lines. The engine expels gases but does not draw them in, thus maintaining crankcase vacuum at all RPMs for improved performance.
Note: Designed primarily for bottom-breather and custom cylinder head breather applications. Cannot be used on standard cylinder head breather applications due to the space required.
Technical advice: How active crankcase breathers work. On the downstroke of the pistons, the air in the crankcase is compressed. H-D engines, both bottom-breather and head-breather models, cannot evacuate the required volume. With large-displacement engines, this problem is further increased. All crankcase breathers allow pressure to escape, but also partially allow it to return as the pistons rise. With an active crankcase breather (crankcase vent), a valve closes, preventing the gases from re-entering the crankcase, creating a more intense partial vacuum inside. This can increase power, depending on the engine. Problems with blown or leaking gaskets will be reduced, and the piston rings will seal better.
