12.2" (309mm) - 24mm lower; Standard springs; Black anodised; RAP (Remote Access Preload). Excellent replacement single rear shock. Made with a hard anodised black aluminium body, high-pressure nitrogen filled, with a large 46mm bore and deflector disc damping. Includes standard thread or RAP (Remote Adjustable Preload) located behind the passenger's left footpeg, for easy-access adjustments. Rebound damping is adjustable in 5 positions. Available in stock, as well as over- and under-lengths to suit the various lengths of standard Softail models.
What are Progressive Suspension 'Heavy Duty' shocks?
If you are a light rider with a light passenger, the STD series is probably your best choice; the Heavy Duty shocks will provide a firmer ride. For the bigger riders, with a lot of luggage, the Heavy Duty springs are the right choice. Heavy Duty is not better, it is different.
The use of Heavy Duty shock absorbers or springs is recommended on motorcycles operating at or near the manufacturer's maximum load for more than 50% of the time.
