A compression (jounce) bumper designed with an integrated metal cup helps soften and control bottoming out. What is the difference between the 'STD Duty', 'Heavy Duty' or 'Super Heavy Duty' shocks from Progressive Suspension?
If you are a light rider with a light passenger, STD Duty is probably your best choice; Heavy Duty shocks would give a harsher ride. For large riders with a lot of luggage, Heavy Duty springs are the best choice. Heavy Duty is not better, it is different.
It is recommended to use Heavy Duty shocks or springs on motorcycles that operate at or near the manufacturer's maximum load capacity for more than 50% of the time. In short: Standard (suitable for combined rider and passenger weights up to 250 lbs / 113kg), Heavy-Duty (250 lbs / 113kg to 350 lbs / 159kg) and Super Duty (350 lbs / 159kg and above).
