S&S, pinion/conversion kit for pinion shaft 90-99 B.T. Yellow

Colour-coded yellow for the largest size. Factory replacement for all B.T. 77-89 models. Used as a conversion kit on Evo B.T. 90-99 models with pre-1990 pinion shaft. For 1989 and earlier type pinion shafts used on Evo B.T. 90-99 models (engines using S&S flywheels or other multi-piece flywheel assemblies), S&S offers this conversion package. The kits include a 77-89 colour-coded pinion gear, a 54-89 oil pump drive gear, a 54-89 pinion spacer and a 54-89 pinion nut.

Note: All kits must be used with a 73-99 style oil pump drive gear (S&S 531209 / OEM 26345-73).
Note: If the factory pinion is unmarked and the size is unknown, or if you are building an engine from scratch with no pinion, S&S recommends a pinion from the centre of the size range. These sizes were used most frequently and should provide proper pinion play in most circumstances. When in doubt, use a pinion from the centre towards the small end of the range, as a combination of smaller pinions with a looser fit will produce a harmless clicking sound, but too tight a fit can cause a screeching sound, binding and premature wear. Consult the factory service manual for information on optimal fit instructions between the cam pinion and shaft pinion before ordering.
