S&S, high-displacement cylinder and piston kit 98" (1607cc) 3-5/8"

Fits all 1966-1984 Shovelhead models with 4-3/4" stroke engine flywheels. Supplied complete with big bore cylinders (+.200" / 5.530" bore, 3-5/8" long) in gloss black, forged pistons, rings, wrist pin bushes, head/base gaskets and head bolts and cylinder base nuts. This big displacement engine provides a significant increase in power and torque. 8-1/4:1 compression ratio. Engine life is expected to be acceptable, depending heavily on riding habits.
Note: The case spigots must be machined for 3-5/8" cylinders.
Note: 4-3/4" stroke engine flywheels must be used in the special small diameter 8-1/4" version (MCS 512370) in combination with an 82-up style crankshaft pinion shaft and an S&S sprocket shaft. Engine flywheels must be purchased separately and come unbalanced.
