S&S, Easy Start 585 (IOG) gear-driven camshaft kit

Valve lift of .585". IOG = gear-driven camshafts, with inner and outer drive gears. Complete kit with installation hardware, bearings and gasket.
88" to 106" with compression ratio of 9.7:1 to 10.5:1 and 106" to 124" with compression ratio of 9:1 to 10:1. 3500-6000 RPM for 88" to 103" engines and 2500-5500 RPM for larger engines.
The Easy Start camshafts make starting easier by reducing the build-up of compression pressure in the cylinders during starting. This is achieved by slightly lifting the exhaust valve off its seat, by means of a spring-loaded compression release lobe inside the camshaft. After starting, the compression release lobe retracts through centrifugal force. The only difference is during starting, as you will now be able to start your Big Inch engine electrically with no effort, without the need for large batteries and/or starter motors. A standard starter motor and battery are sufficient. When the engine is running, the camshafts operate as normal cams, with no loss of power, torque or anything else.
Note: The installation kit required for the Easy Start camshafts is included in this complete (IOG) kit. It is available separately as an S&S spare part for this kit under reference 503566.
Note: The Easy Start cam profile is not a bolt-in for these 99-06 Twin Cam models. All will require and/or may require disassembly for clearance and high lift valve springs.
Note: Not compatible with kick-start models.
Note: Camshafts manufactured before January 2010 will require adjustable pushrods.
Note: Below 900 RPM a clicking sound may be heard. Adjust the idle speed to 1000-1100 RPM.
