Smaller and lighter than the original. Fits the original bracket and mounting points beneath the standard covers. Features a 45,000+ Volt output. Fast rise times for easier starts and elimination of spark degradation, even at high RPM. Fully encapsulated for greater durability, vibration resistance and rapid heat dissipation. More spark energy than the OEM coil. Compatible with standard and aftermarket ignition systems.
Note: Difference between Single Fire and Dual Fire:
- Dual Fire ignition - This is how pre-Twin Cam engines operate. A single coil is used and both spark plugs fire simultaneously. This is the simplest system. The "wasted" spark is said to slightly reduce power.
- Single Fire Ignition - This is how stock Twin Cam engines from 2000 onwards operate. Two independent coils fire the spark plugs individually, only activating the spark plug of the cylinder on the compression stroke. These engines are said to vibrate less and may improve power. The effects will be more noticeable with more aggressive camshafts and at high RPMs.
