Oil drain plug / blanking plug. 1/4" NPT thread.
Shorter version of the OEM 765 crankcase/sump drain plug. The Feuling plug is only 0.265" tall vs. 0.465" for the OEM. The further the lower plug is installed into the crankcase, the more the cross suction port becomes blocked. For optimum oil evacuation and lower sump levels, the shorter sump plug is recommended, which will ensure the sump cross port is fully open and allow the oil pump to extract the maximum possible amount from the sump.Eliminates the blockage of the internal scavenging port in the engine case with the FEULING Short Sump Plug. A common problem on Twin Cam and M8 engines (more common on Milwaukee Eights) is that the sump plug can block the internal (return) scavenging port. By using a shorter plug, we eliminate the possibility of the plug blocking this cross port.
Note: The main M8 sump cross port inside the M8 engine case is in a slightly different location and height on every case. This cross port is created when the lower plug hole is machined and threaded at the factory. The machining passes through the mould wall, creating the sump port. Whereas the Twin Cam engine's cross scavenger hole is a machined orifice and is in the same location on every case.
