JIMS tappet block kit

These tappet block kits for Panhead and Shovelhead engines are capable of running at the highest revs a Harley-Davidson engine can reach with a camshaft lift of up to .700" in combination with suitable valves and valve springs. The use of these hydraulic tappet kits gives Panhead and Shovelhead engines the same hydraulic tappet technology as fitted to Evolution engines, and also eliminates the oil losses that exist in the old system. The tappet blocks are machined from 7075-T651 quality billet aluminium with a tensile strength of 83,000 psi, which is almost 3 times higher than that of the cast iron of the original tappet blocks. For Panhead 1953-1964 and Shovelhead 1965-1984. Do not use the countersunk bolts unless you countersink the holes in the tappet blocks. Note: These tappet blocks have been designed for .550" valve lift (measured at the valve). This means approximately .350" of tappet travel, leaving .035" clearance for the roller to bottom out. If you want to use a camshaft with more lift you must modify the tappet blocks. They can be used with stock or similar pushrods.
