Front brake line kit specific to ABS Designer Series with alternative length

Dyna and Sportster models with a single disc require two kits: one upper and one lower
Softail models use 3 kits (except dual disc '18+), with the lower one being optional on all. The upper kits are mandatory for handlebar changes; using an upper brake line adapter or, on '11–'17 Softail models, the optional ABS Lower Brake Line kit which includes the adapter.
Adapter for Softail models allowing completion of the upper brake line connection from the ABS controller ('11 - '17) or the lower brake line ('18+) to the master cylinder.
When replacing the original lower brake hose assembly on dual-disc Softails '18+, no adapter is required. Using AN-3 fittings, the upper line connects directly to the lower Magnum assembly.
Touring models with twin discs use three kits: one upper, one lower and one intermediate.
Trike models use two kits: one upper and one intermediate. No lower kit is available.
For all Touring and Trike models with ABS, a mid and upper line from Designer is required. The mid line connects to the upper line at the fairing or headlight and completes the run from the master cylinder to the ABS controller. The lower kit is optional.
In non-standard applications, it is necessary to measure the length of the upper brake line and the banjo angle to ensure correct fitment.
Harley-Davidson motorcycles with ABS require specific upper and lower ABS brake line kits. Failure to do so may compromise the anti-lock braking system operation. Magnum Shielding kits for these applications have "ABS" printed on the hose.
The length of the upper line for Softail, Dyna and Sportster '14+ models is determined using the original brake line as a guide. Remove the rubber sleeve and measure from where the flexible line enters the crimp collar at the bottom. Follow the line's routing to the master cylinder.
'18+ Softail – Replacement of the upper line when reusing the original lower brake line (adapter required). Lengths are determined using the original master cylinder line as a guide. Measure from the lower fitting where the upper line connects to the master cylinder. Subtract 1.5" for the adapter and round up to the next number to determine the upper line length.
The upper and lower line replacement for Softail Single Disc '18+ requires an adapter (3 kits).
No adapter required when replacing both upper and lower brake lines on Softail Dual Disc '18+ (2 kits). The upper line connects directly to the lower Magnum Designer dual disc line. Follow the previous instruction without subtracting 1.5” for the adapter. The measured length, rounded, will be correct.
The length of the upper line for Touring and Trike models is measured using the 49" centre line as a reference to determine the additional length required from the ABS controller to the master cylinder. This will be your upper line length.
