PS, model 444 shock absorber set. 12". STD. Chrome-plated

444 series shock absorbers:
Incorporates FST (Frequency Sensing Technology) which dynamically adjusts damping according to the road surface. Threaded top mount and hand adjustable preload.
Note: Optionally available is the QPS (Quick Preload System) adjustment kit 704545. It replaces the stock top caps of all Touring series 444 and 944 shock absorbers, allowing quick preload adjustment without the need to remove the panniers.
What are Progressive Suspension 'Heavy Duty' shocks?
If you are a light rider with a light passenger, the STD Duty series is probably your best choice; Heavy Duty shocks will offer a firmer ride. For big riders with a lot of luggage, Heavy Duty springs are the right choice. Heavy Duty is not better, it is different.
The use of Heavy Duty shock absorbers or springs is recommended on motorcycles operating at or near the manufacturer's maximum load for more than 50% of the time.
