High-performance applications often uncover problems with original components that could not have been anticipated. One such problem is the tendency of the inner primary bearing race on late-model Big Twins to slide along the main drive shaft under high-load conditions. This can result in the destruction of the main drive shaft seal, the sprocket and its bearing. An expensive repair and precious time without a bike. A unique modification in the design of the inner primary bearing race prevents this defect. The S&S bearing race has an extra step in the inner diameter that acts as a brake on the transmission main shaft. When the race is pressed onto the shaft, the step will prevent the race from working its way over the seal. The race can be installed in both original and replacement transmissions.
