S&S, 93" KN series engines. Generator casings

Includes FHP420 cam and 8.2 compression ratio. The S&S KN series (Knucklehead-style) engines come very close to the original, but are not a replica engine. Several improvements/changes have been made. Includes 48-99 engine mounts and is not compatible with OEM Knuckle frames. A later 58-65 style flywheel assembly is used, with the splined pinion shaft and a Timken bearing for the pinion shaft, which increases strength. Therefore, a 54-65 style sheet metal primary cover and the engine sprocket must be used. The rocker covers are also upgraded over stock. The lower covers are made from die-cast aluminium and, instead of being secured by the valve guide, they are held down by valve spring pressure. A special gasket at the bottom of the lower cover provides a good seal and easier access for maintenance, as the valve guides do not need to be removed to remove the lower covers. Instead of the steel heat-hardened oil return lines used on the stock covers, S&S has improved the oil line design for better reliability, access and fitment. The engines arrive fully assembled and ready to run with a pre-set S&S Superstock single-fire ignition system and an S&S Super E carburettor.
