Jims Powerglide™ tappets offer superior hydraulic performance compared to OEM-style equipment, with a forged steel body, hand-honed hydraulic cavity and an oil-fed axle. To obtain full power, you must have zero valve lash and eliminate hydraulic tappet collapse, as occurs in the OEM unit, also known as "the shock absorber syndrome". Failing to keep the valve open for its full travel results in power loss. Jims Powerglide™ tappets come as close as possible to a solid tappet, yet can still compensate for thermal expansion. They also work well with solid-style camshafts. Weight: 149 grams each. Fit as a direct upgrade replacement for OEM 18523-86A.
