S&S engine, KN-Kone series 93". Alternator/generator cases

Featuring the FHP420 camshaft and an 8.2 compression ratio. This 'Kone' engine includes a crankcase with integrated alternator, compatible with all Shovel & Evo B.T. transmissions from 1970-1999 and aluminium primary covers. S&S Knucklehead series engines closely resemble the originals but are not exact replicas. Several improvements and modifications have been made. Includes engine mounts for 1948-1999 models and is not compatible with OEM Knucklehead chassis. Utilises a 1958-1965 style flywheel assembly, with a splined pinion shaft and a Timken bearing for the pinion shaft, enhancing durability. Consequently, a 1954-1965 style steel primary cover and corresponding engine pinion must be used. Rocker box covers are also improved over standard versions. The lower covers are cast aluminium and, instead of being secured by the valve guides, are held in place by valve spring pressure. A special gasket at the bottom of the steel lower cover ensures a good seal and facilitates maintenance, as the valve guides do not need to be removed to take off the lower covers. Rather than the bronze-brazed steel oil return lines found on standard covers, S&S has improved the oil line design to offer greater reliability, access, and ease of assembly. Engines are delivered fully assembled and ready to run, fitted with a pre-set S&S Superstock single-fire ignition system and an S&S Super E carburettor.
