The original H-D compensator sliding ramp/cam system for the engine sprocket has been an impact absorption system used on H-D models in various configurations for over half a century. It cushions the impacts between the engine sprocket shaft and the primary chain that drives the clutch/transmission. Hard work, no doubt. The S&S compensator ramp is a heavy-duty direct replacement upgrade for the standard ramp and offers greater reliability over more miles. It is micro-polished to a mirror finish, reducing friction where it matters most and keeping the drivetrain cleaner, cooler and quieter. Better oil retention helps protect critical surfaces. Recommended for all engines, from stock to any performance upgrade.
