Revolutionary new design with 0.115" total travel versus a full-travel tappet at 0.200". These hydraulic tappets will increase RPM by reducing valve float and valve train harmonics, whilst keeping the engine quiet. The reduced travel lessens the amount of oil needed to fill the tappet's interior, which decreases oil aeration within the tappet on high-lift, fast-action camshafts.
NOTE: when there is oil aeration inside the tappet, the pushrod seat drops when the tappet rolls over the front ramp of the camshaft after compressing the aeration, thus creating a noisy, low performance tappet.
Feuling short travel lifters must be set with 0.065" - 0.070" preload and, with normal engine heat growth, the operational preload of the lifter will be at or around mid-travel.
Machined from a steel body and designed to exceed the demands of high-lift camshafts and increased valve spring pressures, with a slower bleed rate. The RACE series tappets maintain proper oil flow to the top end, increase engine RPM, valve train stability, reduce valve float promoting maximum valve lift.
Feuling recommends Race series lifters for engines exceeding 185 lbs. valve spring seat pressure. FEULING recommends the use of a high-volume oil pump, which will result in quieter, better performing lifters. Race series lifters are compatible with FEULING HP+ or Race series oil pumps and are designed for use in both street and track engines. Developed on the Spin-Tron dyno and track tested, made in the USA.
