S&S, forged oil pump. Style 73-91

Fully CNC machined pump to maintain tight tolerances and strict quality control. This pump does not have a connection for rear chain lubrication. It offers several options for the placement of the oil line. All S&S forged aluminium pumps are delivered complete with everything needed to replace the original pump and include installation instructions. Machined with an oil pressure relief passage that reduces pressure build-up on the valve to maintain a constant oil pressure. The oil pressure regulation diverts excess oil directly to the supply side of the pump, reducing the amount of oil returned to the tank, which decreases foaming and cavitation.
Note: There may be more differences in Harley-Davidson engine crankcases than is thought. Sometimes it is necessary to plug or drill a hole. S&S offers a drilling template as MCS 518150. This is a special tool that mounts on the crankcase and is used as a guide to help drill the holes correctly.
