Gear drive. The gear drive system provides better cam timing. More reliable, reduces oil pump wear and allows higher cam lifts. Everything is better than the chain system, although it will produce more mechanical noise than chain drive.
Complete oil pump, oil pump/cam support plate, push rods, tappets, tappet blocks and 475 Performance cam kit. The pump and support plate are a direct replacement for the stock components. Blue anodised finish and precision machined from forged aluminium. The cam plate comes with bronze bearings and a steel 'wear plate' to protect the plate body from the steel oil pump rotors; the passage plugs are removable for servicing. The oil pump comes with independent scavenge sections for the flywheel cavity and the cam compartment, with debris screens in both scavenge inlets and a magnet in the cam compartment to help trap debris before it enters the pump. Oil flow is increased on both the feed and scavenge sides. The pressure relief valve is adjustable and can be adjusted with the pump installed on the engine.
The pushrods are 'Quickee', allowing installation without removing the cylinder head, and come with a complete set of gloss black pushrod covers. The lifters are S&S Precision and include S&S forged aluminium lifter bodies. The included S&S gear drive 475 cam is a bolt-in and delivers up to 100 horsepower. The gear drive system eliminates the stock cam chain system and provides improved cam timing.
