FEULING M8 oil-cooled cam chest kits include all necessary components from the top to the bottom of the chest, conveniently packaged under a single part number. These combined kits not only ensure that each individual part is designed to work and function together, but to do so in perfect harmony. These cam chest kits eliminate the guesswork from the ordering process and guarantee the engine builder maximum reliability, optimum performance and the lowest possible engine and oil temperatures.
• Quieter, smoother engine operation • Increased oil pressure, scavenge volume and engine oil flow • 27% more pressure and scavenge gear volume compared to the standard model • 42% more scavenge volume with port, passage and orifice sizing matched to the engine block • 46% more oil volume to the crankshaft and connecting rod bearing • Engine temperatures 15-25 degrees cooler • Oil temperatures 15-30 degrees cooler • An additional 10-30 PSI of oil pressure • Reduces wet sumping, blow-by and oily air filters • Magnets in the oil pump to help protect the gears and pressure relief valve • Test results show a gain of 2 HP and 2 ft/lbs. of torque at the rear wheel on the Milwaukee Eight • NOTE: Feuling test results show a 50% reduction in crankcase oil level.
993525 REAPER 521 CAMSHAFT - Aggressive pulling power with an "aggressive" sound, the REAPER 521 profile will shine in 114" and larger engines with increased compression ratio. Ported cylinder heads are not mandatory, but will complement the camshaft and add even more pulling power across the range. The stock throttle body produces an excellent powerband, and using a high-flow throttle body will increase peak power figures. A high-flow exhaust system and high-flow air filter are highly recommended for optimum performance.
NOTE: High lift valve springs are required in stock cylinder heads, see Feuling Beehive valve spring kit 993530. SE cylinder heads already have high lift valve springs and will accept the 521 profile camshaft.
Due to the high volume of calls and enquiries regarding the oil pump rear cover o-ring groove on the M8, Feuling has added the groove (11/05/21). Although Feuling's in-house testing on healthy engines showed no benefit. The o-ring may have potential benefits in certain circumstances, such as engines with higher cylinder-to-cylinder compression loss, poor sub-seal o-ring sealing, elevated crankcase breather and/or crankcase plug, and wider lifter-to-bore clearances.
The kits include: Feuling high volume oil pump, HIGH FLOW alloy cam plate, Reaper series camshaft, hydraulic roller lifters, fixed length pushrods, Timken/Koyo camshaft bearings, rocker studs and nuts, gaskets, O-rings, ARP camshaft/crankshaft fasteners, washers, molybdenum lubricant and Loctite.
- Race series kits include a Race series lubrication system: 7075 alloy oil pump, Race series tappets, high-flow 7075 alloy camshaft plate.
• 7075 alloy oil pump that is 50% harder and more durable than the factory pump, maintaining tighter tolerances under temperature, with deeper suction rotors than the HP+ oil pump.
• Deeper suction kidney ports than the HP+ series for greater suction flow volume.
• Race Series hydraulic lifters have .200" total travel designed with a slower bleed rate to handle high valve spring pressures, increase engine RPM before valve float and feature increased roller clearance for steep-ramp camshafts and clearance for the front M8 camshaft lobe flange.OIL LEVEL NOTE - DO NOT OVERFILL THE OIL TANK It is important to obtain the correct hot oil level on your bike. Feuling recommends keeping the oil level at 90%-99% when hot.
Note: The M8 oil scavenge port is on the right-hand side of the engine. Letting the motorbike idle or warm up on its sidestand will naturally raise the engine case volume and skew the oil level in the tank.
Feuling recommends the following steps to achieve the correct oil level:
1. Check the oil level when cold.
2. Ride the motorcycle until it reaches operating temperature.
3. Switch off the motorbike while it is still in an upright position. (This ensures an accurate reading) 4. Once the motorbike is on its side stand, check the oil level.
5. Add or remove oil as necessary.Feuling does not recommend adjusting beyond stock emissions standards.
