S&S, forged oil pump. Style 36-69

Fully CNC machined pump to maintain tight tolerances and strict quality control. Requires 73-77 breather gear. This 36-69 style pump is the only one offering an adjustable primary chain lubrication system, but has no provision for rear chain lubrication. Offers various options for oil line placement. All S&S machined aluminium pumps come complete with everything needed to replace the stock pump and include fitting instructions. Machined with an oil pressure relief passage that reduces pressure build-up on the valve to maintain constant oil pressure. The oil pressure regulation bypasses excess oil directly to the supply side of the pump, reducing the amount of oil returned to the tank, which decreases foam formation and cavitation.

Note: 36-69 engines used with the S&S pinion shaft and drive shaft gears speed up the oil pump by 25%, identical to 73-up models. S&S pumps for 1936–’67 engines used with the supplied S&S oil pump drive gears deliver 33% more oil than the original cast iron pump.
Note: There may be more differences in Harley-Davidson crankcases than you might think. Sometimes it is necessary to plug or drill a hole. S&S offers drilling template MCS 518150. This is a special tool that mounts on the crankcase and is used as a guide to help drill the holes correctly.
